Deliveroo as P2P is the best option for a second job!
1) I work as a P2P rider for deliveroo. I am Belgian. I am 32 years old. I have worked for Deliveroo since 2019.
2) Deliveroo is a company that uses an algorithm to link customers, restaurants and riders to provide delivery of food.
3) negatives first.. As a full time self employed worker I would be afraid probably. Why? No control over the money get. If Deliveroo lowers the fees or never raised them you are screwed in the future. So there should maybe be guidelines that make sure that companies don't use this system wrongfully. Many hours during the day there will be very little orders so for full day workers that might be a problem as well on top of the first problem of not being able to choose fees.
The GOOD:
For me it's the best job I can do as a second job currently. In Belgium with only 10% taxes on P2P it's very lucrative if you work during peak hours.
For deliveroo it's also these hours that they need more people. I can assume they also like the P2P status and probably they also believe that this should be a job in part filled in with people who do it as an extra job.
If I became an employee at deliveroo. Chances are I would go from my current 20€ net per hour to 10€ net per hour.
I achieve 20/h because I work from 17.45 to 20h15.
On the other hand. At any time could deliveroo lower the fees or never adjust according to inflation. They could also double the amount of available riders . Making the orders available to me half and then I would earn as much as an employee, but without the social benefits.
Difficult matter.
